Direct Inward Dialing FAQs
Direct Inward Dialing (DID) is used to connect inbound callers directly with a specific user or phone within a company’s phone system, rather than routing through an automated menu or operator.
You can receive a direct dial phone number by signing up with a cloud-based phone system, or by purchasing a phone number from your virtual phone system provider and assigning it to a user.
When a user calls a direct inward dial number, the phone system provider routes the call directly to the associated user or phone. This call routing is achieved via either cloud-based VoIP or landline-wired PRI.
